Spring’s Already Sprung

Turn the lamp down, stoke the fire up
A weary traveler has arrived
Stepped down low, a four lane blacktop
To set down by your side
Maybe we’re making this all up as we go
What’s already done
An open door to your open arms
The spring’s already sprung

In the yard where your garden grows
And back behind the stream it flows
To deep and crystal water
Under only we can know
In the yard where your garden grows
Is where I want to go

You’re taking me up; I’m losing my place
You’re waking me up, the sun on my face
Only we can make each other happy

Just when I thought that I was through
I couldn’t take another step
Through the haze I caught a glimpse of you
It’s how I am renewed

Maybe we’re making this all up as we go
What’s already done
An open door to your open arms
The spring’s already sprung
